Early Childhood Special Education Approval
This program, which consists of four courses, offers an opportunity for teachers who hold an Illinois Early Childhood (Type 04) certificate or an Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) certificate to earn an Early Childhood Special Education Approval. This approval qualifies teachers with a Type 04 certificate to teach children with disabilities from birth through 5 years of age and qualifies teachers with an LBS I certificate to teach children with special needs ages 3 through 5.
To learn more about the approval program, please refer to the Early Childhood Special Education Approval flyer, contact the UIC Special Education Department at (312) 996-5650, or email Alejandra Cantero at acante2@uic.edu or Dr. Elizabeth Talbott at etalbott@uic.edu.
